The BII Licensee of the Year Award

the ultimate accolade for professional licensees

Judges look for the individual or couple that makes the best of the resources available, whatever type of outlet – village local, community boozer or high street bar. The type of venue isn’t important, what is important is that entrants show great business ability, are committed to improving staff and the business, show passion to the business and industry  and show that they could be a great ambassador for BII and professionalism in licensed retail.

The award is open to all UK licensees, whether they are freeholders, tenants/lessees or managers. Entrants do not have to be members of BII.
Previous winners include:
Philip Davison FBII, The Sun in the Wood, Newbury, Chris Lewis FBII, The Swan, Stafford; Andrew Coath FBII, The Swan, Milton Keynes; and Richard & Jacque Macey CBII, The Fountain Inn, Clent.

The BII NITAs ...

...are the industry training awards. Judges look for entries that demonstrate success achieved through effective training and development.

Entrants to the BII NITAs benefit from personal and confidential feedback from the judging panel.

There is a range of categories within the BII NITAs, from ‘Licensee Trainer of the Year' to ‘Professional trainer of the year’. Entrants can enter as many categories as they wish and more than one programme can be entered in each. The training programme(s) entered should have been running for a minimum of one year to allow demonstration of effective evaluation. Guidance notes are also provided to assist in putting the entry together.

Previous BII NITA winners have included: WM Morrisons, JD Wetherspoon, St Austell Brewery, Punch Taverns and Marston’s.
