 PC Support Analyst

based Camberley, Surrey.  Competitive salary plus excellent beneftis

 

We are currently seeking a self-motivated and well-organised individual who is committed to a high standard of customer service, to join our busy ICT team. The main purpose of this role is to provide a high level of 1st line ICT support to 58 end users and to support the requirements  of the organisation’s ICT infrastructure and system processes.

 

Some of the key responsibilities are outlined as follows:-

 

To provide 1st line ICT support to end users and to install configure and maintain appropriate software and hardware

 

To maintain, control and log all IT issues from end users and to respond quickly and efficiently to all ICT support requests

 

To add new users to the ICT system with appropriate permissions

 

Perform system management functions and operations of MS Windows 2003 servers

 

Analyse, design, develop, test and implement workstation set up

 

Identify software, network and hardware malfunctions and take timely and appropriate action to resolve issues

 

To assist in the development of new and current applications and to provide necessary training to end users

 

To ensure virus software is installed and updated and to monitor and audit data backups, email and web connections on daily basis

 

Extrapolate information from various programs and databases and assist departments as appropriate in report writing for business management purposes

 

The ideal candidate should be self-motivated and well organised with an excellent attention to detail.  Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills and the ability to be tactful and diplomatic when dealing with users/staff members are vital for this role.  A good working knowledge of computer software, hardware and networks is required along with at least 2 years related experience.

 

The ideal candidate must be able to effectively organise workloads and work under pressure to achieve deadlines.  A proven track record in developing and maintaining business applications would be a distinct advantage. It is essential that the job holder maintains confidentiality of information at all times..

 

A good level of education is required for this post, preferably in Computer Systems Technology or the  equivalent combination of education or experience.  The following skill set is essential: -

 

Operating System – Win XP. Server 2003 (Software build, test, release, support)

Database – MS SQL Server, Access 2003 (Relationship, DTS, Form design and report writing)

Office suite – MS Office 2003, MS Office 2007 (Install, configure)  

 

There may be some occasional moving, lifting and installation of desktop PCs and other IT equipment and occasional weekend and out of hours working may be required.
